pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefbank is providing Garbe with EUR 62 million for the purchase of land and the subsequent construction of a logistics property near Leipzig Airport.

Two logistics halls are to be built on the approximately 97,000m² site, which is located in the Großkugel industrial estate in the municipality of Kabelsketal, not far from Leipzig Airport. The flexible, multifunctional logistics centre can be divided into four (Hall A) or two (Hall B) separately rentable units. A total of 54 dock levellers are available for delivery. The property therefore meets the latest technical requirements for various types of logistics use and benefits from its excellent connections to the A9 and A14 motorways and public transport (Großkugel S-Bahn). Around 30 per cent of the planned hall space has already been pre-let. An e-commerce company will move into the larger Hall A and occupy two units.

According to the plans, DGNB Gold certification is being sought; this means that the loan fulfils pbb's requirements for a green loan and green bond.

Gerhard Meitinger, Head of pbb's German business, said: "With the increasing development of e-commerce, the importance of modern, functional and sustainable logistics properties continues to grow. We are therefore very happy to support our long-standing client Garbe in the development of this logistics hub."

"Once again, the good cooperation with pbb has proven its worth," emphasised Jan Philipp Daun, Managing Director of Garbe Industrial Real Estate. "I am delighted that we were able to reliably finalise the financing together, even in the current challenging market environment."
