pbb provides green loan for DIC special fund

16.01.2023

pbb has provided EUR 60 million to a special fund managed by DIC Asset AG for institutional investors for the purchase of a new office building in Berlin.

The property, which was completed in mid-2022, is located in a central West Berlin location in the Charlottenburg district. The entire rental space of around 15,600 m² has been leased to Deutsche Rentenversicherung on a long-term basis. However, the U-shaped building concept with a main core and lateral wings also allows for multi-tenant use in principle.

With its façade of light-coloured natural stone and generous window fronts, the building conveys a high-quality appearance. Tenants benefit from flexible, light-flooded office space in a contemporary design on seven floors. Access to the individual floors via several lifts also ensures barrier-free use. Excellent public transport connections are complemented by an underground car park with 85 parking spaces. Additional public car and bicycle parking spaces - some with electric charging stations - are available directly in front of the building.

Not least due to the modern and energy-efficient building technology, the property meets all criteria for green loan financing in accordance with pbb's Green Loan Framework. As part of its holistic ESG strategy, pbb systematically assesses sustainability criteria for financed real estate properties. For this purpose, pbb has been issuing Green Loans since the fourth quarter of 2021, for which a separate framework has been developed.
